Fishes, birds, forests & stars, oh my!
Sometimes, when we love someone, it's hard to describe just how big that love is.
The late Dan Fogelberg wrote LONGER back in 1979 on a trip to Maui. Lying in a hammock, looking up at the stars, he recalled that the song for his girlfriend, Maggie, "wrote itself." LONGER would become the biggest hit of his career. I remember hearing the song on the radio, practicing the lyrics in a calligraphy class, and wondering what it would be like to be loved so deeply someday. All these years later, now I know how love feels, and it's all because of my husband, Tom. So, I headed into the studio, armed with a heart full of love, surrounded by the brilliance of teenage violin sensation Milana Resta, master guitarist Kevin Barry, and background vocals courtesy of rock legend Charlie Farren.

I hope you feel the love, too.

We all need one person in our lives who believes in us, right? Someone who listens to our wildest dreams and has no doubt we will achieve them. For me, that person was my father. Not only did Ray love and guide me against all odds during my childhood, he stepped in to help me raise my children when I became a single parent. One day, I sat down to write a song about my father. I had asked him to write me a letter before he died, and he never got the chance to do it, so I wrote him a love song instead:
And I wish you’d written me a letter, something to unfold.
Your words right there on paper, something I could hold.
Special thanks to Jacy Dawn Valeras for sharing her songwriting talents with me. If you are lucky enough to have a father in your life, get out your pen and paper and write A Letter today.

Love Always,

Everybody's got a favorite song, and Desperado is mine. Beautifully arranged by Brad Hatfield, this track features his gorgeous piano playing. The teenager in me played The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt on repeat, and later in my career, I probably played the song on the radio a thousand times. Recording this song made my heart sing. This is the first track I've released in a few years, with more songs to come every month. My sophomore album, GRATEFUL is set for release in March, 2026.

The moral of this story? It's never too late to do what you love.
